Aw that was a touching update.  I liked it.

How to make QUR better?  That's a tough one...
I guess "put even more awesome music on there!" is the only thing I can think of right now

I have no clue if this is at all feasible or even necessarily relevant to the improvement of the label, but the reason a lot of bands won't allow you to plug into the soundboard at shows is so that if they choose to they can release a soundboard recording at a quality that is superior to the bootlegs and therefore it will still sell.  Right?  As far as I know, that's been LTJ's stand for years as well as the Slackers'.  That logic doesn't really stand with the approach of QUR.

Is there any chance of soundboard live recordings from QUR bands being released via QUR?

Also no necessarily relevant, but is Satori still going to be doing a release with you guys?  And if so, is it going to be a re-release of "Savor Every Moment" or will it be new material?

maybe, giving a choice between consumers. like, you can either download the album, or buy the real thing for $8 or something. that would be kinda cool.

If there was one thing I'd do it would be to get rid of the frames on the site so people can easily link bands and albums to their friends without going through the main page, where they usually get lost and give up. ATM the address bar just shows quoteunquoterecords.com the whole time.

Also why not get Defiance, Ohio onboard since they're giving their stuff out for free anyway?

Also more ska.

Well, not to steal any ideas from Marilyn Manson, but allowing bands to create the booklets for the CDs and post them on the website would be totally cool, with unique lyric sheets and all.
Quote Unquote should also put a tour's page up there like most labels sites.
Also I think a QUQR tour would be a good idea!

Also, a QUQR compilation, including that unreleased ASOB track.

ummm yeah, I think these features would be cool to have on every album page. I know a lot of them are, but this is kind of a different way of organizing it. MS Paint.

Danny's idea is cool.

The compilation idea is cool too.

jeff, i'm not sure what your costs are, and what (label) effort goes into every individual release...but it seems to me, if you wanted, you could put every album that bands want to give you up as a release.

i can see why you wouldn't want to do this. if i were in your position, i would be weary of putting my name, my seal of approval, on everything that passes through.

that said, what if there was a place on your site when bands from all over can post their music (i'd imagine that'd have to find their own hosting) for public consumption. like "hey, here's some other free music for you to check out too." basically, if you wanted to provide an easy way for other bands to follow in your footsteps without doing all the leg work. the obvious problem is that anyone could go up and put any album they wanted to be traded on your site, and claim it as their own...i don't' know how to get around that, but maybe you've got an idea...

i don't know, i like what your doing, and i'd like to see more bands follow suit.

i really liked how get warmer was released on cd...
maybe open up a store with optional buys on select future cds?
i would buy a copy of the o pioneers and btmi split cd
maybe because i have a huge cd collection though.
if not a whole merch store link,
maybe tutorials on making your own shirts.
like a downloadable bomb stencil etc.
keep true to the DIY style we all know and love
most of all...

i know it seems a little on the
evilmusicindustrycorporateadvertisementbullshit side,
but i'd love to see a btmi video,
even if it's a live set, just with some awesome quality

word on the quqr tour

It would be cool to see an accurate tab section on the site from the bands

I know there's already a thread with a bunch on the forum, but they're unorganized and a lot are wrong

...just sayin'

Re-up anything you put on your myspace (Like the tracks that are now on the split) onto QUR so I feel less dirty downloading them - and so they have a more permanent place and can be linked to etc.

Put up BtMI!/RJ split? I don't have a vinyl player so buying the vinyl would be worthless - and I'm not going to buy one just for one album, because even with heaps of CDs I only listen to MP3s of them - and I don't wanna fuck around with ripping vinyls all because of one little split.

I have an MP3 version of it but it's shit, and the volume drops in and out.

And yes, links to buy albums from whatever sites you know stock it.

Removing frames also. Frames tick me off, being a standards whore web designer... who happens to suck major at anything apart the code...which I've forgotten about mostly due to not doing anything web-design-ey for 2 years... except update his myspace page with XHTML/CSS... which is more limited now also.

Might be an excuse to pick up php again actually.
Why is this an excuse for me, you ask?
Well, I have no idea. But it is.
Deal with it.

That being said if you (Jeff) need any code help, I can lend a hand maybe?

I was going to make a decent sized donation to QUR today ($70AU) but realised I'm going to schoolies next week, and then flying to Brisbane to see SLM+RBF+LTJ and I'll be living from paycheck to paycheck anyway, so like, someone bug me just after christmas maybe, if anyone remembers.

Go through that and there's some stencils.

This sounds like a really cool idea, and the booklet things. I was pretty disappointed with the Get Warmer booklet, which lacked all the stuff you wrote online, and any incentive to actually buy the thing apart from some silly doodles.

Also, releasing sheets/tabs for free would be fucking sweet, I know alot of people can learn it by ear amd dont mind, but alot of people can't and BTMI/ASOB song tabs arent really easy to get hold of. Well, I guess if you did some digging(on these forums and others), but why not host them at the source? Seems so much easier that way.

Edit: Just listening to BTMI/O Pioneers, and I think you need higher quality MP3s and VBR and
